We are All on a New Journey as the COVID-19 Pandemic has Changed our Everyday Lives

In Alabama, we are not completely on the stay in place protocol, so we wanted to enjoy a little “out of the house time” before the requirement.  So, We took our family on a hike on the Bucca Family Trail at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville.

We had never been on this trail before.  I love nature, the beauty, tranquility, and the time to meditate and reflect on the many blessings that GOD has bestowed upon me.  This trail is a 5 mile hike round trip. At the halfway mark you can enjoy the beautiful view at the top of a point. Going up the kids were excited.

On the way back my 3 year old started to cry, “I’m tired daddy!” With 1.5 miles left till we get back to the car.  My natural response, although somewhat harsh was: “Think about it son, we have to get out the park before sun down.  Look up, where is the sun? (about 5:45 pm) Don’t stop and cry, walk! It is not going to get you back any sooner!”

I wasn’t expecting his response, but he actually stopped crying!  He asked to hold my hand and began to walk. He kept his eye on the sun. When we got to the 0.5 mile marker it was getting a little darker out.  He let my hand go and began to run. Although tired he ran past the entire group and made it out with his head held high! I was so proud of my kids!

Just like me and my family on this new trail, We are all on a new journey.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed our everyday lives.

Just know, we are all affected, but together we can get through this time.

We will be stronger in the end.

Like my 3 year old, hang in there but push on!

Much love, peace, safety and health be with you and all your families.

God Bless!
